Summary of My Role

I was brought on as a UX researcher to analyze playtest sessions for seven interactive visual novel games. Each game was based on a different popular entertainment property, combining mystery and romance elements where players shape the story through their choices.

Over the course of several months, I developed and refined efficient processes for analyzing unmoderated playtests and delivering actionable insights to the development team.

Research Objectives:

Evaluating Core Mechanics Assess the usability of game mechanics and UI to ensure players could effectively navigate and make choices.

Measuring Experience Goals Evaluate how well each game delivered on its core experience pillars (confidential).

Improving Engagement Identify opportunities to strengthen player connection with story and characters.

Project Challenges:

Challenge 1: Creating an Efficient Process Across Multiple Similar Projects

Challenge 2: Managing Progress with Minimal Client Input
